The Humanetrix Foundation, Inc., a Bloomington-based not-for-profit organization, is pleased to announce the release of its Citizens' Toolkit for Bloomington and Monroe County - Primary 2006. The Citizens' Toolkit is a website (http://www.citizenstoolkit.org) designed to make voting information and voting itself easier and more accessible to Bloomington and Monroe County residents. Voters can confirm their precinct and polling place, as well as view a map to their polling place online.
The main features of the Citizens' Toolkit for this Primary Election are:
- Polling Place Finder: http://www.citizenstoolkit.org/poll_finder.php
Simply type in your information to find your precinct and polling place location (along with a helpful map). - PhotoID Information: http://www.citizenstoolkit.org/photo_id.php
Information about the State requirement for voters to provide photo identification at the polls.
Regarding the Citizen's Toolkit 'Poll-Finder', Mr. Dietz claimed, "The 'Poll-Finder' is the main attraction of the Citizens' Toolkit website. What we've tried to do is make is as easy as possible for any registered voter to find where to vote on election day. You just type in your information, and out comes your precinct and polling place location, along with a map to find it!"
"With the entire State of Indiana migrating to a new unified voter roll format we've had to make some changes to our database structure. This is an opportunity for us to improve the Toolkit and we'll be doing quite a bit of that over the Summer leading up to the Fall's General Election. We hope the Toolkit is useful for Voters in the Primary election on May 2nd, and we'll be working hard this Summer to make it even better for the Fall Elections."
Citizens' Toolkit is a project of the Humanetrix Foundation, Inc.
